So, you once dated Michelle Obama.

Or, you used to be in a knitting club with Hulk Hogan.

Tell us about it. We’re looking for people from the Lower Columbia who have rubbed elbows in some way with famous people.

So far, we’ve found some good ones. And some that were, shall we say, B List.

Anyway, get your stories to us. We want to know how you’re connected with a notable person.

We’ll be writing a story in the near future called “Fame by Association.” Don’t miss your opportunity to be a part of this and create some fame of your own.

" Your column isn't long enough...I grew up in So Cal...my neighbors were famous people, movies were made at my school and in my neighborhood, in fact, most the old 60's & 70's tv dramas were filmed in my neighborhood...went to school with famous people (when they were grown) and famous people's children. And we have, shall we say, well-connected people in the family that had provided ample opportunity for social occasions with very famous people. So then I moved to Kelso...;-) There's a couple other people up here grew up similarly too... "

" Since I've been in I've met 3 brig generals, 1 leutenant generals, and 2 major generals. In the military, the dudes who wear the birds and the stars are the big shots. I've met a guy who temporarily played for Johnny Cash and filled in as his back up guitarist. I've met Warren Barfield, Jenny Owens, but they were because I did security for their shows. I did security for Ben Crinshaw's ceremony in Augusta, GA for the "Mayor's Masters ceremony" which was pretty cool. I've met the comedian Bob Smiley and got to chill with him, that was cool, but yeah...I know some more but that should do it for now.
P.S. "Hey! Nothing'll stop the US Air Force!" "

" I met both Paul Hogan and Cuba Gooding Jr. while they were in Tucson filiming Lightning Jack. My daughter was at the U of A's hospital recovering from minor surgery when the two visited on a P.R. jaunt. Hogan was very likeable, and took the time to play with the kids and even signed an autograph for my daughter with an orange crayon. Mr.Gooding Jr., well...let the old adage "if you don't have anything nice to say...." be my only comment on him. "

" This article got me reminiscing...Gramps had a business that did business with many famous people over the years. Mom or Grams would take us kids down to meet Lou Costello, Alan Ladd, Bob Hope, Jack Paar, and a woman whose name I'm ashamed I can't remember. And then there were the opportunities (because my work was behind a little concert spot where they previewed and worked out their shows prior to tours) to meet Deborah Harry, Springsteen, Randy Meisner, Jim Messina, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt...there's others, but, as you can see, 250 words isn't enough if you grew up someplace where these people were commonplace. Does it count the day I got my driver's license that I was on the freeway next to a baby blue Rolls Royce, looked over and saw Natalie Wood? Gee she was beautiful. "

" I was a body guard for Dean Martin at the Torrey Pines golf tournament back in the early 70's in San Diego. He suffered from claustrophobia around large crouds and we had to keep them at a distance. I also had an opportunity to meet Kris Kristopherson in the mid 80's. I was surprised at how slight a man he is and very quiet spoken. "

" This is good stuff, but I can't include it in my story unless you send it to me in an email with your name, hometown and phone number. Or you can call me. I hope to hear from you! "

" ...and take the heat from everybody? I don't think sooooooo. That's the problem with the comments...and not that the comments are really the problem. If your name's attached, there's just stupid people who have an opinion whether you like it or not. If I wanted everyone to know, I'd put it on a sign in my yard. No one wants to be known as a name dropper. Generally speaking, I'm not a name dropper, although, by rights, I could (but won't). Sorry, nice try though! "
