Longtime local business owner Lynda L. Frantsvog, 68, of Castle Rock passed away April 17, 2012, at the Hospice Care Center.

She was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Longview, to Louis and Esther (Wipper) Frantsvog, and graduated from Castle Rock High School in 1962.

Lynda attended dental school in Portland and worked as a dental administrator in Prineville, Ore., San Francisco and Alaska before returning to the local area in 1976. She attended beauty school in Vancouver, and in the early 1980’s became the owner and operator of Gift and Beauty Nook in Castle Rock. Lynda only recently retired in December of 2011.

She was a member of the Castle Rock Park Board, Friends of the Castle Rock Library and St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in Stephen’s Ministry and the yearly bazaar. She enjoyed gardening, reading, arts and crafts.

Lynda is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Phyllis Frantsvog of Castle Rock; three grandsons, David, C.J. and Dylan, all of Castle Rock; and two sisters, Doris Bower of Highlands, N.J., and Sharon Shelley of Randle, Wash.

A sister, Eileen Dillinger, preceded her in death.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. April 28 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Castle Rock with Pastor Bob Sinclair officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1313 Broadway, Suite 100, Tacoma, WA 98402.

Arrangements are by Hubbard Funeral Home.
