Longtime local resident Fred Wesley Miller, 76, of Castle Rock passed away May 23, 2010, at the Hospice Care Center.
He was born July 31, 1932, in Battle Ground, Wash., to George and Selma (Fenamore) Miller. He attended Toutle and Castle Rock schools.
Fred served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked in the woods as a yarder engineer. He was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Fred enjoyed fixing electronics and fishing.
On Feb. 28, 1953, he married Delores Palmer. She survives him at home. Also surviving are four children, Marvin Miller (Valerie) and Leroy Miller (Debbie), both of Castle Rock, and Cindy Carnine (Clark) and Mikael Miller, both of Longview; a sister, Marilyn Johns of Castle Rock; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his father, George Miller; his mother, Selma Lund; a daughter, Joanne; a son, William; and a sister, Margie Wakefield.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at noon Friday at the Castle Rock Eagles.
